Coaching
The Power of Feedback
Executive | Business | Personal | Facilitation | Team
People want me to describe what coaching is. I know many coaches do that but I’m not like them. I don’t use a coaching elevator pitch because the ones I hear all sound weird – like the coaching version of business jargon, to which I have extreme aversion.
I prefer Umair Haque’s: Dumbwaiter Pitch: What’s the one-word description of your business?
Change.
What
Ongoing dialog, support, feedback and facilitated tools and exercises to help you optimize your point of power and lead change where business, awareness and direction, converge. My DRIVE model is a framework for going both broad and deep with clients, including with myself. I’ve created a lot of content because what comes out of coaching sessions is so big, so unexpected, so huge that I’m compelled to share it with as many people as possible.
My head, anyone’s brain can only hold so much. So its invaluable to have this site as a core platform for publishing the content that is my ideas and solutions in form.
The following film by a transformational coach talks about the great things that come out of the coaching conversation, including: “life is so big, so great”. I like it.

Why?
“Once I got the meaning of life, they went ahead and changed it on me.” – George Carlin
- We’ve all seen or experienced how urgently pushing through or forcing change results in the exact opposite of what is required, needed or wanted. Usually, the undesired results are blamed on past experiences, other people, external conditions, poor structures and systems, timing, luck, etc.
- Conversely, sometimes seemingly intractable personal, business and organizational change challenges are somehow resolved with no imposition of will whatsoever. The unexpected positive results are usually wrongly credited or attributed to coincidence, or we say “funny how things just work out”.
- What’s commonly misunderstood is the power of influence in leading and responding to change, and how it can be developed to naturally (vs artificially) affect experiences and outcomes.
Self-awareness is integral to RedShift coaching programs because success and positive results require shifting limiting beliefs, assumptions and expectations that you, your team or your organization and culture hold.
What I do in my coaching programs, is help clients individually or collectively develop the power of natural influence. My programs generally focus on life direction. But the positive changes that result, extend to health, wealth and romantic partnership. Positive results for business and organization clients include culture change, the most important component of any and every change project.
